Renowned Mid Argyll artist John Lowrie Morrison - Jolomo - presented the MS Centre in Lochgilphead with a cheque for £2,300 last week. Accepting the money was centre manager Karen McCurry. Jolomo raised the cash following his successful annual show at the Archway gallery in Lochgilphead last year.

A LOCHGILPHEAD man has been one of the first people in Scotland to test-drive a new eco-friendly train that is being introduced throughout the country. Willie Fletcher, who now lives in Barrhead, was at the controls of one of Scotrail’s new electronic trains which are due to arrive in Scotland in two months.
